Competition: For Junior String Recital. Presented by The O'Grady Family to honour their mother Mrs. Sheila O'Grady. Open to Violin, Viola, Violoncello, Double Bass, Guitar, Concert Harp. Age Limits: Violin, Violoncello-12 to under 17. Viola, Double Bass, Harp and Guitar - 12 to under 18.

1st Prize: Cup and Gold Medal

2nd Prize: Silver Medal

Test Pieces 2024

In preliminary round, a programme of short pieces of own choice.

Eight finalists will be chosen to perform in the final round on a different day during Feis Ceoil. Please note that both the preliminary and final rounds will have a programme duration of 12 minutes.
 

NB: From 2024, where there are 20 competitors or less, there will be no final.
Competitors must provide their own accompanist.

NB: Please ensure that all own choice pieces are submitted at time of entry, as no change of repertoire will be allowed after competition entry deadline

 

The highest placed violinist in this competition will be eligible to apply for The Power Fine Violins prize. See here for details.
