New Prizes for 2025
The Irish Amati Violin prize
Feis Ceoil is delighted to offer an Amati violin for a loan period of three years to a Feis winner in 2025!
1st and 2nd prize winners from the Arthur Darley, Arthur Catterall and Aileen Gore* (*violinists only) competitions will be eligible to apply for the loan after the end of the Feis.
Candidates will be required to complete an application form and attend an interview. The successful candidate will be on the cusp of a full-time career in music and will demonstrably benefit from the use of a first class instrument.
The Kevin Fitzpatrick Guitar Bursary
The winner of competition 8.15 Junior Classical Guitar (A) will be eligible to apply for the Kevin Fitzpatrick €5,000 Bursary.
The Bursary may be used for the purchase of a guitar, or for further education and musical development in Guitar.
The Bursary will be administered by the Feis Ceoil office and there are two options available to the winner in respect of drawing down funds:
1. If the Bursary is required for the purchase of a guitar, the full €5,000 may be drawn down on submission of proof of purchase.
2. If the Bursary is required for further education and musical development, it will be made available in two moieties of €2,500 over two years. Examples of eligible expenses are: tuition fees, master class attendance fees and associated expenses. (Other expenses may be permitted but must first be agreed with the Feis Ceoil office).
Sing Ireland Scholarship
Sing Ireland are offering a full attendance scholarship for their International Choral Conducting Summer School to the conductor* of the winning Folens Choir of the Year 2025 at Feis Ceoil. (*This offer is open to the Conductor, or they can nominate a colleague who they feel would benefit from the course).
Patrick Hearne €250 Award
A monetary award of €250 has kindly been offered to the winner of competition 12.04 Junior Concerto by the family of Patrick Hearne in his memory
